Bovvered?

Are you bovvered? Concerned? Want to know what's going on?

Our next Forum public meeting, 10 am on Tuesday, 1st April, will give you the opportunity for some answers.

Where is the meeting being held?

Please click on the link above for the map and information for car parking (front & rear of the centre). Why Henfield? The Forum has listened to our supporters who wanted us to access more people by holding public meetings around the district, not just in Horsham.

Why attend?

What's the latest situation with the NHS? What's happening with the introduction of having to book local appointments for blood tests?

Laura Robertson, NHS Sussex, will attend via Zoom to answer our questions. What do she and the NHS need to know about our current experiences?

What will happen to our Horsham District Council and its plans if and when the Sussex Unitary Authority, with its own Mayor, is created? What about our wonderful local parks and green spaces like Horsham Park? Will they continue to be protected? Who will represent our district?

Why have the Council raised car parking charges in our district again? What other questions will you have for Councillor Mark Baynham, Deputy leader of Horsham District Council and Cabinet member for Finance?

We will also have a speaker who will tell us about the activities available at the Henfield Leisure Centre that may interest older people, including computers.

How much does it cost to attend?

Attending our meetings is free, including complimentary tea and coffee. We are pleased that Ascot Care is kindly supporting and sponsoring this Forum meeting and will tell us about their services.

What if I can't get there?

You can attend via ZOOM. Please request the joining information either through the Contact page on our website or by emailing hdopforum@gmail.com

What other concerns are the Forum hearing?

The Forum is here to be the ears and voice of local older people. We are currently hearing concerns through our local AGE UK about rising bills, including water bills. Another issue is confusion over recycling. We will arrange for guest speakers to come and advise us on saving money and correct recycling, hopefully at our next public meeting on the 1st of July at the Chantonbury Leisure Centre, Storrington. What concerns do you have? Please let us know.

Who can attend?

Anyone aged 60+ who lives in the Horsham district or cares for someone who is. Anyone involved with, knowledgeable about, or interested in issues affecting local older people.

Our local MPs, HDC, WSCC, Neighbourhood, and Parish Councillors are valued supporters of our Forum and local older people and are always welcome. If they don't know what older people are concerned about, they must consider what can and needs to be done.

The Horsham District Older Peoples Forum (HDOPF) is an independent, non-political, voluntary group.  It acts as the 'ears' and gives a 'voice' for people aged 60 and over who reside in the Horsham District Council area or who cares for someone who is.
