Why? It's our MP Question Time meeting. It is your chance to ask your newly elected Lib Dem MP for Horsham, John Milne, your questions.

What do you want to know? What have his experiences as an MP been so far? What issues does he see for his Horsham constituency? What is he doing about....?
Please provide any specific questions you have well before December 6th, to ensure balanced coverage of topics and to make the most of our short time with Mr Milne.
We will also invite Laura Robertson, NHS Sussex, to tell us what is happening NHS-wise, what we should know, and answer your questions. If you have a specific question, let us know beforehand to ensure you get an answer.
Who can attend?
Anyone aged 60+ who lives in the Horsham district or cares for someone who is. Anyone involved with, knowledgeable about, or interested in issues affecting local older people.
Our local MPs, HDC, WSCC, Neighbourhood, and Parish Councillors are valued supporters and are always welcome.
When, where and how much?
Our last public & MP Question Time meeting in 2024 will start at
10 a.m. on Friday, December 6th, 2024.
Due to the number of people who will want to attend, the venue will be Brighton Road Baptist Church, Brighton Road, Horsham RH13 5BD.

Please let us know if you are attending so we know the venue will be large enough. Email hdopforum@gmail.com or through Contact on our website
You can also participate via Zoom (please request the joining information before the meeting, as above).
Parking. Limited parking is available in the church car park, accessed from New Street. There is also a pay-and-display car park in New Street, virtually opposite the church car park. Payment via machine is required every day.
Free parking is available a shortish walk away in Bennetts Field.
Community Transport West Sussex may be able to assist you in attending.
A handy downloadable Horsham Bus Map and timetables can be found here.
What will you gain by attending?
Meet your new MP and find out what he thinks about the issues that affect you and your family.
Meeting others in a warm, safe, older person-friendly environment with complimentary tea and coffee.
As always, we will discuss and listen to the issues you want to address and get answers to. If action is necessary, we will, if possible, take it. An example is when we set up, and still run, our free Mobility Scooter safety training course.
We always have topical and knowledgeable guest speakers who know or need to know the concerns of older people and have the answers to your questions. Are others worried about the same things you are? Certainly! Would you like to hear about something you didn't know, e.g., NHS updates, what and where help is available, access to GP services, the NHS, community transport, and more?
Come and find out for yourself. You will be welcomed, and we guarantee you will learn something new.

2025
If you already have your 2025 calendar ready, we will hold our Forum AGM at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, at Lavinia House and via Zoom.
That will be a short meeting, followed by our Forum committee meeting. Please join us after the AGM to see how the committee operates and if you may be interested in joining.
We have a question for you. It has been suggested that the word 'older' puts 'older' people off because none of us think of ourselves as 'old'. We are still in our 30s mentally, but unfortunately, our bodies have kept on ageing. What would you suggest we rename this forum? What word or words can we use to describe 'older people' that wouldn't be an instant switch off for 'older people'?
